For the game you’ll need a minimum of 2 players but it is more fun with a group of 4-6. You’ll need 16 red solo cups and a few ping-pong balls.
– 7 Emu cups
– 7 Soldier cups
– 2 water cups
You will also need either a long table (beer pong table) or two coffee tables spread about 6 feet (180cm) apart.
Don’t forget to hold your favorite drink in your non-dominant hand! We recommend a traditional heavily spiked emu eggnog.
Definitions:
- ‘hit’ = ball goes into a cup
- ‘peck the Soldier’ = throw a ball
There are two sides: the Soldiers vs the Emus.
On one side, the Soldiers are grouped together in a V shape the point facing the Emus. At any point all soldiers must be touching. When a Soldier is ‘hit’ the fallen Soldier must be removed from the table, and remaining Soldiers must regroup before the next turn.
Each turn, the Soldiers aim and shoot their many emunitions 😉 at the stocky chickens until there are no more Emus (should they make it that far).
On the other side, Emus are grouped together in a honeycomb formation. Each turn, Emus have the option to ‘peck the Soldier’ or move away from the mob.
If deciding to move, an Emu should not move more than a cup’s width away from the closest Emu. Every Emu needs to be less than 1 cups width away from at least 1 other Emu.
Soldiers may challenge an Emu’s move if they believe they have moved more than an a cup’s width.
Should a challenge prove a Soldier correct then all Soldier players get to shoot at the Emu cup that just moved too far from the mob.
Should a challenge prove a Soldier wrong then all Emu players get to peck ANY Soldier as a free throw not part of turn.
The winner of the game is the first team to ‘hit’ all other opponent cups.
